After being postponed for the last two years, Clerkenwell Design Week will once again be taking place in the London neighbourhood. The festival's 11th edition will be spread across three days and a selection of the 100-plus showrooms in Clerkenwell. This year's first edition of twice-yearly Paris trade show Maison&Objet takes place from 24 to 28 March, having been moved from its regular January slot due to the pandemic.

As one of the most versatile indoor and outdoor venues in Los Angeles, The Shrine Auditorium, Expo Hall, and Grounds provides flexible layout options for any small or large-scale event including award shows, movie premieres, or festivals. When you attend a California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) event, you enter an area where photography, audio recording, and video recording may occur. By entering the event premises, you consent to such media recording and its release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, webcasts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, and inclusion on websites.

Another mobility project, Team EMG, comprised of six electrical and one mechanical engineering students, won for Best Interdisciplinary Team. As finalists in the third annual IPC Design Competition, the five designers were invited to IPC APEX EXPO to compete in a five-hour layout challenge, to place components and route a board, compliant to relevant IPC standards. As part of the finals heat, competitors used Altium Designer, and a project was provided with stackup and board geometry complete, with certain critical components pre-placed. All other components were left to be placed at the discretion of the competitors. A membership drive will occur the day of the event, and those interested can purchase a plate of spaghetti and meatballs for $10 or a meatloaf plate for $12. A sandcastle-building competition will be held on the small beach beside the post, and a cornhole tournament will be held inside.
The show was one of the few design events to take place in China in 2021. Object Rotterdam is a design fair that showcases design products and labels from emerging and established designers across a variety of different categories and mediums. The public is invited to meet these students and see these projects amongst the 44 on display at the Senior Design Expo, held Wednesday, May 1 from noon-2 p.m. The Expo judges were industry professionals, as well as faculty and staff from across campus. This year’s Expo also welcomed more than 200 high school students as part of an outreach initiative where they explored science, technology, engineering, and math while serving as reviewers. The high schoolers picked two projects for special honorable mentions including one ECE team, AIRplanes, that is working to develop an autonomous drone design that can follow the terrain and fly low to the ground.
Launched in 2008, the Capstone Senior Design Program aims to provide students with a capstone experience in which they apply their theoretical knowledge to real applications.
